David Wollan is managing director
of the Wine Network group of companies. He established this with partner
Gary Baldwin.
In recent years he has managed
major consulting projects in Eastern Europe and has also consulted in
Australia, Israel, France and New Zealand.
Now, besides overseeing the general
activities of the group, he has a special interest in the development
and management of the Wine Network Technology operation.
Prior to establishing Wine Network
Australia, David set up and managed one of Australia's premier small
wineries.
In this and previous positions
he acquired a deep understanding of all aspects of grape and wine production,
winery management and financial systems, as well as wine marketing and
promotion.
He is actively involved in a number
of honorary industry positions and is regularly asked to contribute
as a speaker at conferences and seminars.
Detailed career background:
1993 - Present: Managing
Director, Wine Network Australia Pty Ltd. Originally a joint venture
of Wine File and Oenotec Consulting Services, this company was set up
to consolidate consulting and related service activities for the wine
industry. This is now the holding company for the Wine Network group.
1999 - Present: Director
and Principal Consultant, Wine Network Consulting Pty Ltd. This is now
the specialist consulting division of the Wine Network group.
1997 – Present: Director,
Wine Network Technology Pty Ltd (formerly Vinovation Australia) - A
wholly owned subsidiary specialising in the development and commercialisation
of cutting edge wine technologies.
1989 - 1999: Director,
Wine File Pty Ltd. A small software development company established
with colleague Artemis Georgiades, this venture resulted in the Wine
File - Winery Production Management System which is used by wineries
around the world.
1983 - 1995: Founder, Managing
